    Small Home Improvement Projects

    By Joe Libin | home | 0 comment | 10 May, 2018 | 0

When it comes to increasing the value of a home, there are many projects you can do. You can do a full remodel of a kitchen or bathroom, but it isn’t always necessary to knock down walls to increase the value of your home. Sometimes it is a simple, small home project you can do yourself.

What are some small projects you can do to improve the value of your home?

    Lighting

The lighting in a home can make all the difference to space. Consider updating the fixtures in the bathrooms, kitchen and other critical areas in the home to create a more inviting feel to the house. Finding accessories that match the rest of the rooms can create a feeling of a more extensive space that can be appealing to potential buyers.

    Shelf Space

The best thing about owning a home is the opportunity to use the space in whatever style you choose. Over time, though, a home accumulates extra items and if they correctly managed can start to take over an area. Create more space for creative solutions. Shelf space is a great way to give more storage to a home. It will allow you to reduce clutter and can even add to the aesthetic of a room when done in the right way.

    Showerhead

Something as simple as replacing a shower head can change the look and feel of a room. It doesn’t cost a lot and can save you a lot of money just by reducing the flow of the water in your shower. Reducing the flow of water can help save on water and make your home more efficient.

    Cabinets

A small project like changing your cabinets can change the look of your room. Changing the handles on the doors to something more modern can help update the look for very little money. Some cabinet doors may contain insets. Tighten them up, or swap them out. You may even consider painting the wood a different color for a new look. Little changes like this can vastly improve the look of a room.

    Appliances

Appliances mean a lot to a home. Consider a time that you have looked at a home and saw the appliances that looked outdated. Seeing old items may have caused you to second guess considering a house. Consider updating a machine that has been around for a while and changing the perception of a home. Especially find models that are more energy efficient as many new homeowners are looking for ways to save money and be kinder to the environment.

It doesn’t always take a massive project that costs time and money. Little changes here and there and projects you can do yourself can go a long way towards increasing the value of your home.
