New 2027 loan limits are available now

Sep 22, 2026 | Breaking Down The Mortgage

Hey folks, welcome back to this month’s Breaking Down the Mortgage. I’ve got some good news for you. It’s fun to find good news, right? The early 2027 conforming loan limits are here now. As of last Wednesday, September 16th, the conforming loan limits are going up. Currently in 2026, they were 832,750. They’re going up about 2% to 847,440. So what does that mean? Why should you care? Real simple. This means on a purchase price of $1,060,000, you can put 20 down and land on this new conforming number and still have a normal conforming mortgage. You don’t have a jumbo loan. You don’t have the jumbo hoops or the jumbo pricing.

Likewise, if you buy a place up to 997, we can just call it a cool million bucks, and put down just 15, only 150,000, you still land on a normal conventional loan, which is fantastic. These limits are available today. Hopefully, these will help us make things a little bit easier. Anyway, just wanted to share that with you. Thanks so much for watching. If you have any questions, please reach out. I’m never too busy to help. Thanks, and we’ll talk to you soon. Take care.
